Lido

Lido holds the “Accessible Beach – Beach for All” award.

– Pedestrian access via the Public Promenade;

– Access to the bath complex with a difference in level overcome by ramps;

– 3 parking spaces reserved and free for people with reduced mobility 150m from the complex;

– Covered parking approximately 200 meters away, with one space reserved for users with reduced mobility;

– Bus stop 300 meters away;

– As an alternative to stairs, there is an elevator to access services and equipment on different levels;

– Level entrances facilitate access to sanitary facilities, changing rooms, adapted showers, as well as the aid station, bar/restaurant and terrace, allowing all users to enjoy the space equally;

– The maintenance and unblocking of the facilities is guaranteed, frequently evaluating the good functioning of the alarm to the outside and free access to the sanitary facilities during the bathing season;

– The accessible entrance is clearly identified, and the accessible beach flag is visible from the public road;

– Information is made available to the public about the accessibility conditions and support services available in the bathing area;

– The floor is paved and, to overcome the differences in level between solariums and swimming pools, there are accessible routes continued via ramps;

– Sun loungers and parasol are removable, which allows any user to choose the area where they want to be;

– Has lifeguards, first aid and first aid station;

– We provide customers, throughout the year and at no additional cost, with equipment that allows adults to access and use the pool with greater autonomy, such as an amphibious chair, crutches and a common wheelchair. Available during all beach opening hours;

PONTA GORDA BATHING COMPLEX

Ponta Gorda

The Ponta Gorda Bathing complex was classified as accessible by the “Accessible Beach – Beach for All!” Program, observing not only the conditions of mandatory compliance but also those of a non-imperative nature, thus promoting equality in the enjoyment of the beach by people with disabilities and/or reduced mobility.

– Pedestrian access to the bathing area is via Public Promenade;

– Access to the bath complex with a difference in level overcome by ramps;

– It is possible to access the bathing area at the entrance level of the complex, and inside it, by car, but it is exclusively for the transport of people with reduced mobility;

– One parking space for people with reduced mobility;

– 6 spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility in the parking lot located approximately three hundred meters away;

– Pedestrian access to the beach itself is provided on paved floors and wide, slightly inclined concrete ramps to overcome the gaps between the solarium and services and equipment, and which allow circulation and crossing between two users with reduced mobility safely;

– Handrails were placed on some ramps that connect the bathing area, solarium and services, creating a more comfortable and safer accessible route;

– The maintenance and unblocking of the facilities is guaranteed, frequently evaluating the good functioning of the alarm to the outside and free access to the sanitary facilities during the bathing season;

– The accessible entrance is clearly identified and the accessible beach flag is visible from the public road;

– Information is made available to the public about the accessibility conditions and support services available in the bathing area;

– The solarium area is quite large, paved and without uneven levels;

– There are no reserved shaded parts for users with reduced mobility. The service of removable sun loungers and umbrellas allows all users to choose the area where they want to be;

– The route is accessible to the bar terrace and the playground. And access to sanitary facilities, adapted showers, and the Aid Station, being facilitated with level entrances;

– Has lifeguards and rescuers;

– The use of the pools can be done with greater safety and autonomy, with amphibious equipment (hydraulic and amphibious chairs, and crutches) available at no additional cost and available throughout the beach’s opening hours. PRAIA FORMOSA

Praia Formosa is an “Accessible Beach – Beach for Everyone!”.

– It is a beach adapted for people with mobility difficulties.

– Pedestrian access to the bathing area via the Public Promenade.

– 3 paid parking spaces for private vehicles transporting people with disabilities with a parking card 50m from the accessible beach.

– 3 free parking spaces for private vehicles transporting people with disabilities with a parking card 200m from the accessible beach.

– It is also possible to leave the passenger near the promenade, 30 meters from the entrance to the spa complex.

– The bus stop is 300 meters away.

– Access to the sand/pebble is achieved by ramps as an alternative to steps, and there is a route that allows people with reduced mobility access close to the waterline, as sea conditions allow the use of amphibious means of support for bathing for people with mobility limitations, safely – floating amphibious wheelchair, submersible amphibious wheelchair and amphibious crutches.

– Has lifeguards and rescuers during the bathing season.

– The beach has sanitary facilities, changing rooms and changing rooms and an aid station adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility.

– The accessible entrance is clearly identified, and the accessible beach flag is visible from the public road.

– Information is made available to the public about the accessibility conditions and support services available in the bathing area.

– Existence of a removable rigid mat under the pebble to facilitate access to the sea.

– Shaded area reserved for people with reduced mobility, with a removable rigid structure floor.

– Bath support can be done with greater safety and autonomy, with amphibious equipment (floating amphibious chair, submersible wheelchair and crutches) available at no additional cost. Users can request support and supervision from the on-site first responder. This service is available between June 1st and September 16th, between 10am and 6pm.

BARREIRINHA BATHING COMPLEX

Barreirinha

– Does not have an Accessible Beach Award Flag.

– Pedestrian and/or vehicle access to the bathing area is possible up to 2 meters from the access to the complex. There is organized parking, and 2 spaces designated for users with reduced mobility;

– People with disabilities can use the elevator as an alternative to stairs. Access to the solarium is via stairs and ramps;

– Sun loungers and parasols are removable, which allows any user to choose the area where they want to be;

– The orographic conditions of this bathing complex do not allow the use of any means to support bathing for people with reduced mobility in safely.

DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION ABOUT ACCESSIBILITY

Information on accessibility conditions and support services available to customers of the bathing complexes managed by Frente MarFunchal, E.M. is disseminated through various channels – on signs on public roads, on the information panel about the services and in the Code of Conduct.

The “Accessible Beach” flag is placed in a strategic location so that it is easily visible from public roads.
